Flashing Gas Light/Fuel Smell
Hi, Forum
About a week ago, I noticed the smell of gas, nothing crazy just a hint. Then I got to my destination, turned car off for about 3 minutes. Turned back on to depart and about 30 seconds into the drive the gas light started flashing. No sputtering, nothing strange just flashing. I turned off and back on and nothing. Drove just fine and has not done it since. No gas smell since. Any ideas where I can look? Gas cap seems new. Nothing leaking under car.
Best,

If you hook up a scanner, you will get that infamous P0455 code. EVAP Emission Control Leak.
You're eventually gonna get a Check Engine Light come on with the P0173 Fuel Trim Malfunction.
So, first check your gas cap and see if it's leaking vapors.
Then do a vacuum leak test on your fuel lines. Do you know any shop that can do a smoke test?

I don't know any shops that can do one but I'm sure they exist. I've already got that check engine light and it went away but yes I've already gotten that code. Now everything is gone and running fine.
Should I be concerned or was it just a hiccup?
