ASR in 1990 500 SL
Hi
My '90 500SL is equipped with ASR (some sort of traction control system, in my understanding), as in most SL's. However, there is no "switch" to turn off the system. It is a shame because I find it too intrusive in my driving, and the car would be much more fun if it were possible to turn it off.
I wouldn't like to disable the system completely. Is it possible to have a switch to turn the ASR on and off? I would sure like to see the old SL drifting and rockin' the twisties! It would be a funny site.
Thank you very much, I'd appreciate any info.
Greetings,
Raul
P.D.: the other pain in the b*tt is the 4 speed tranny!

You should build a ASR Defeat. Search the web or learn to read in Swedich http://www.mbsca.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7610
The thred is about a w124 E500 but surly the princips are the same for the R129.
