1992 Tune Up/Fix
My engine shuts off when it reaches 180 degrees. It will not restart until it cools down. The mechanic suggest to do a tune up. It has 88,000 miles. I purchased caps, rotors, plugs, wires, coils. I replaced the crank position sensor. if anyone has information to help it would be very helpful. I am waiting to receive the coils, I am hoping the tune up will correct the issues.

Update
I have had new distributor caps, rotors, coils, wires, plugs and rear CPS installed. The car stays running and doesn’t turn off when warmed up idles and runs great. Starts great after warmed up. But now it is hard to start cold. Please send any information to help. I have exhausted all the websites and parts stores to obtain a front CPS and have had no luck. If someone has any information it would be appreciated. 1992 500SL.

Is this a KE-JETRONIC or HFM (electronic injection) engine. Makes a big difference. I assume KE-JETRONIC but I do not own one.

It is the KE-Jetronic fuel injection. Thanks for looking at the information. I just don’t understand after all the work that starting would become an issue when it was starting fine before. The issue of turning off after warming up is fixed.
