I have a 1995 SL320 with 130K and the 722.507 transmission failed. Shocking as I maintain it and it was a sudden, catastrophic failure of the 5th gear. Way too much damage to rebuild it else I would. So the question: can I install a 722.502 in my car? It is about half the price of the 722.507. The .502 is from a W140 and looks identical to my .507 transmission. Curious if anyone has any experience or knowledge in this area.
