heater controls dead pixels

I have R129 2.8Ltr 1997 with dead pixels on the LCD display can it be repaired or do I look for a second hand one (UK only)

The LC display is connected to the circuit board using a conductive rubber and pressure or by plugged contacts, I can't remember exactly. The circuit board corrodes and the contact becomes poor. You have to open the case, remove the display, clean the circuit board contacts and reassemble everything. There is no point in replacing a 30-year-old component with another 30-year-old component. Never use contact spray!
