Hi All how can I change my hood/bonnet badge on my R129 2,8 SL it would appear to stuck on any help gratefully received

I thought they are removed by gently prying up (with a nylon tool, of course).

I always thought it was best to take a piece of monofilament / fishing line and run it back and forth to separate the emblem from the metal without putting pressure on the metal

I can't get to my R129 at the moment to confirm this but I think it is released from underneath with something like a pair of pliers from outside towards the middle of the star. No amount of levering from the top will get it out if I'm right.

Note in the picture of the emblem the two long pins. This gives you an idea of how far up you need to pull the part to get it to release.
