Usually disconnecting the battery for about 5 minutes will reset the ECU. The SL's ECU is supposed to constantly adjust to driving conditions. What is the problem you are having?

I will try that, the problem I'm having is for some reason when I'm driving 15 to 40 mph at times, the engine hesitates. My rpm needle will actually look like its bouncing. The car has all the services completed and I've taken the car to the dealer already a couple times but they have found nothing. Also my ASR light is turning on daily.

Your problem sounds more like a plug and wire, ignition, or fuel supply problem.
