SL/R129: 2002 SL500 SA: only 2 lights on dash, no start, no cluster

2002 SL500 SA: only 2 lights on dash, no start, no cluster
My 2002 SL 500 Silver Arrow will not start. Upon turning the key, there is no buzzer, and only SRS and Rollbar lights illuminate on the instrument cluster - no other cluster gauges or lights illuminate or respond including odometer and temp.
Electronics engaging under the hood (fans and such) run like normal in key position 2.
Interior lights, turn signals, headlights, heated seats, climate control, stereo, windows - all of these are working in key position 2.

- Battery is 100%.
- All fuses have been checked front and rear.
- I replaced ignition switch.

EIS trouble
EIS systems can be a pain to troubleshoot without a STAR system. You can go to basic trouble shooting and jump start the starter solenoid/starter system. If the starter turns over than you know you are having a EIS issue… “The Mercedes-Benz R129's Electronic Ignition Switch (EIS) system, a key component of the vehicle's security system, consists of the EIS module, the key itself, and the Engine Control Unit (ECU). The EIS authenticates the key and communicates with the ECU and other systems like the Electronic Steering Lock (ESL) to ensure only the correct key can start the engine”
