SL/R129: Soft Top Wont Close (Jerking)

Soft Top Wont Close (Jerking)
Hi all,
I am new to MB world, I have a 1993 SL300 R129 and have had a good spell of issue free driving. I am getting married this week and my SL is the wedding car only for it to develop a roof issue yesterday, there was no indication of an issue pending witht he the roof its summer here in Ireland so it has been up/down since last May and no problems at all, I daily drive the SL for context. MBW wont allow me to upload a video, but when i activate the soft top to close the top comes up to about 1/2 way than stops and jerks back and fourth and go no further, I am thinking a micro switch and hoping its not a roof control module. Any advice or thoughts are most welcome. Thanks Tony
troubleshooting c/o
-Pump is working and full of fluid
-No signs of leaks
-Fuses all good
-Battery is 12.8
-Always open/close the roof with engine on
-Visually can not see anything damaged

Tony, instead of guessing or trying to find a clairvoyant start by reading your diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Electrical faults are rather well covered by the RST diagnostics system and often give good clues.
