Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has any tips/suggestions on where I can find the mesh grilles that go in the SL500 sport's bumper, on the bottom portion. It's basically the two plastic pieces on each side that cover the mesh underneath the foglight, and also the mesh piece in the middle of the bumper. If it's hard to understand, I could get a pic for you guys tomorrow.

For now, any one care to point me to some places online where I can find it?

Sorry, I can't help with your question, but I may be in the same boat soon. One of the mesh grills on my 2002 SL500 Sport is loose, and I would like to secure it before it falls off completely. How are the mesh screens connected to the car? I can't find any missing screws.

I went thru the same situation a few years back. The cover and mesh is for the tow hook, since I will never have mine towed, except on a flatbed I had my mechanic secure the whole assembly with screws from the back. Any way I had to order them new, they cost $400 each. came unpainted then had to spend another couple of hundred to match my car. So you can see why I had them screwed in place.

yes sir, they are 400 each and are special order from AMG, the price is for the plastic and the mesh together, so take good care of them

Are we talking about the same mesh? My wife said the mesh on my 2002 SL500 grill looks exactly like Home Depot Gutter Guard (painted black). I can't believe they are the same, but they are disturbingly similar - Attached are photos of the two.

The home depot grill/mesh looks the same, I guess we could use it. I had to pay so much because I lost the plastic parts as well
