Remove phone/teleaid module

Hello,
I’m new to the r129 community and working through a few issues on my 2000 SL500. My car sometimes makes a phone tone at random times while driving, and even sounds like a phone line is ‘clicking open/closed’. It also has almost no bass or volume from the speakers (and I always read the Bose was too bass-heavy). I sent the radio/amp off to Becker in NJ to get checked out and they got a full bill of health. They said it could be the ‘phone module’ and to remove it, but didn’t know where it’s located. It does make sense to me that maybe if the car thought a phone line was open it would mute the volume a bit and take out the bass, but I cannot find any teleaid module. Any have an idea of where to look or had a similar issue? My car doesn’t have a factory phone, just the wrench and info buttons inside the center console. Thanks in advance!

My car is 2001 SL500. The Mercedes EPC showed me that phone module should be in the trunk and in the storage box behind passenger’s seat. Both units were gone when I bought the car.
just some cables and plugs.
My radio headunit is Becker be3302. There was no strange sounds from the beginning. Check your trunk. One phone unit should be next to cd changer. And another unit behind passengers seat. Unplug the wires and check if it’s ok.

Check this on partsouq. Put your vin there and see what’s where. Partsouq is quite general. Original EPC from Mercedes would be better ofcourse.

Thanks! I took a peak in the trunk around the cd changer and didn’t see anything but 4 wires diving into the back of the changer labeled radio-in/out and cdc in/out. Next week I’ll pull the black plastic cover off inside the passenger side cubby and see what I find in there. Appreciate the direction.

Finally got around to removing the cover plate to see what I’m working with… looks like just ‘top’ related modules to me. Anything related to the teleaid I should try and unplug? Nothing obvious to me in the pics…

Looking at the pics more, it seems I have the following stacked on top of each other on the left side:Voice Control Bluetooth Module A2208200535

Voice Command Control Module 2208204726

Will unplugging them change any other functions in the car related to the stereo etc? Looks like a bunch of antennae and two multi-pin plugs on the command control module
