Looking for help. My 2000 SL500 is in the shop having the soft top replaced. They have found that the tensioning cables on both sides are broken. I am trying to find the part number but I am getting conflicting info. I see part 129-770-07-66. Can anyone help me ID the part? Sorry to be such a newbie. TOny

 

For my 1994 car the EPC indicates A1297702549 (left) and A1297702549 (right). Not 100% sure if later cars differ but I think they do not.

 

They changed the design sometime prior to 1999. My Upholstery shop was able to find the 2 cables. They will be here tomorrow. I will try to get the numbers so that we have a record of it here.

 

I just had our 2000 SL500 top replaced and the 2 cables were broke. My top guy got them from TopsOnline.com in Panorama City CA. The part numbers were CQMB1297702549 for rear left quarter cable and CQMB1297702649 for rear right quarter cable. The price was $269.00 Each
