500sl Amg??
HI,
i own a 94 e320 but i am tempted to trade her in for this 91 or 92 500SL AMG,
i saw it when i was driving to work and i came back later that night jumped the fence and took pics , i was wondering is there such thing as a 500SL AMG? it has the V12 emblem on it. im very very interested. here are some pics to help. i think with some tint and rims, springs, headlights and maybe some paint if it needs it ( it was dark) it will be an amazing car , ok here are the pics.... is this legit?

It's all fake. The 500SL was never a V12, only the 600SL and SL600 were. As for AMG, there was a SL60 (V8) and SL73 (V12) but I don't think they ever went to the US. Keep in mind that at this time, AMG was not owned by Daimler-Benz, later Daimler Chrysler, so volumes were tiny. Now, DC produces an AMG version of anything that moves, devaluing the brand.
The guy who owns this car is just trying to make it look more than it is, but thank's to this forum, you know better.
Besides, this car looks a pretty rough specimen... Avoid at all costs.

hi im glad i know that, ill have to get him to pop up the hood, its looks decent its just dirty and needs a few exterior touch ups, ill take more pics today and tell u more about the car. later man

1992 500SL (wife); 1996 Dodge Viper RT/10
A V12 500SL ('91-'92), I don't think so; however, this could have happened with a transplant (if it would fit in). This is easy to verify, in the day time, open the hood and count. The AMG badge(ing), is easy to "stick" on. Doesn't sound good to me.

1993 500 SL
an AMG without AMG wheels? V-12 in 91/92 in the 500 series didn't even exist back then, not in the USA (that I was aware of). Looks like a poser sticking on badges to look cool. I'd be very skeptical of that car.

its a piece of ****, i took a closer look and its all ****ed up, i called the dealership guy on it being fake, i was like this isnt an amg.. hes like yyyyaaahh i know the guy who had it blah blah blah, it had 192 thousand kilometeres on it and he wanted 26 thousand canadian, i laughed, what a piece of **** looks like ill be sticking with the E320,, better get new rims to feel better about it haha, later all ty for the help
