Reprogram Keyless Go Key?
Hey Guys,
The 2003 SL I just picked up came with the wrong keyless go key... Is that something the dealership and reprogram or do they just give me a new one?
Any idea how much either way?
And does anyone even use that Keyless Go? I'm not exactly sold on it yet.
Thanks,
Mike

Keyless Go was better when it was a card you kept in your wallet. For various reasons, which we've covered before, the card has been dumped and you have to carry the key, which kind of makes keyless go pointless if all it does is stop you needing to actually use it.

SL500 2003 previous/ E350 2007 actually
That's correct and as far as I know the car come with the card (2003 us versions) and the card IMPO arebetter than the key itself just need a valet inside the card to be perfect.

Wife and I use keyless go on our 2004 SL. We love it. Just leave the keys in your pocket. We will not purchase another car without it.

you know, i just tried the door locking feature and it worked... i can unlock with door by touching it.
But when I press the start button it says 'Chip Not Recognized'
Could it be set to a valet feature or something else? I read through the book, but couldn't figure it out.
Thanks.

Keyless Go
I use the keyless go feature all the time, I personally think it is a great feature. I just leave the key in my pocket. I figured out that the keyless go has different memory presets if you actually place the key in the ignition versus just leaving it in your pocket.
