2002 BMW 745Li Black/beige, 2006 SL600 Capri Blue/Black still on order
Keep waiting?
In brief, Dec 03 2004: $5k deposit on 2005 SL600 (Capri blue, exclv black nappa leather, all options except pano)
Lots of inquiries still no car. Netstar report as of yesterday indicates A4 status for a 2006 model (same specs). What's up with that? Should I get pissed (already am that) and give up, or wait for the 2006 model. Certainly don't think I should have to any any more for it than we've already agreed. No hint of that, but am prepared for the "but this is the 2006 model" spiel when it comes (as I suspect it will....).
Appreciate your thoughts.

I'm not sure that that photo may be Orion blue. the Capri blue i have seen is darker and a bit more violacious in the depth of blue.

BUT, I am glad you brought this point up because it now reminds me of a incident that happened with Mercedes Benz when the SL's first came out in 2002. This is what happened.
I have always been interested in the Aegean Blue since 2002 but wouldn't buy the car without seeing the color at least in a picture. When their brochures came out for the 2003's I saw a picture of a car in the brochure that I would have sworn was Aegean Blue and it was gorgeous. The picture had no color stated on it.
So, I called Montvale and asked them to give me the name of the color of the car in that picture and they couldn't. I hounded and hounded and after a week of hours on the phone each day I finally got to speak with the photographer who actually took that picture of the car. He remember the photograph perfectly. Well, the car was black, yes black. I asked him how was it possible that this color looked like Aegean Blue. He said Aegean Blue doesn't look like that and then continued to tell me the following.
He said when he takes pictures his job is to make the car look beautiful. In order to do that he uses color shaded lenses and plays with the lighting to get the best looking car he can make with the camera. It said it has no bearing on the color and that unless the color is noted on the picture, you can not rely on anything because the color could be representative of nothing since they all use different color lenses and lighting for the sole purpose of making the car look good, regardless if it looks like an actual color.
Now remembering that, any picture you see in a Mercedes brochure or website is absolutely useless unless it has a color named on the picture.
So much for that picture being representative of anything.
Very sorry, I should have rememeber this.

Sure looks pretty true colors to me like it is the Orion blue. I can tell you I have been under a huge misunderstanding in my mind about these colors.
Sorry, I should be more careful next time but it been a long time I have confused myself about these two colors.
Again, my opologies.
Thanks for your help guys.

Don't beat your little head about it...Wouldn't it be easier if they were just light, medium and dark blue? When I was in the Aegean, the water was closer to Orion blue, where as your Aegean blue, Lovin, looks more like the beautiful shades of the lagoon in Bora Bora. Haven't been to the Caspian so can't comment on that shade, but it looks more greenishblue to me. As for Capri blue, they bust be going for the deep blue far back in the blue grotto...Whatever. Enough of "Travelog in blue."
