SL/R230: Test drove the SL
Didnt get to play with it much, and I refuse to try to mash on a car that has no miles on it, breakin is key and I would be horrified if someone did the same to mine.
Nevertheless, this car is a DREAM! Underpowered, but the AMG derivative will fix that. Otherwise the car just glides, the top is SOOOO cool, the interior is gorgeous (despite being the nasty wood, I think alu will be a lot better, the MB wood doesn't look up to par), everything is pretty well laid out (but the buttons get a bit getting used to).
Overall, you'll adjust very quickly, I think. Once it happens, this car will be absolutely MAGICAL.
No pictures, though, sorry guys. I need to buy a digital camera...

But yeah, I was looking at the Olympus E10, then the E20 came out. Problem is I'm a terribly photographer, don't have "the eye."
One of these days.... Then again, there's an open invitatoin for anyone with a camera and skills to come take rides

To date, I can't say it has the soul of the older pre-ford cars, but this thing is a class-act. I've had NO problems with it (58k miles - I drive a lot) yet. Just stick to the service schedule and you'll be fine. My car has a 7 year / 100k warranty, so you should be able to find something similar.
If you have any specific questions, let meknow. I do know that they revised the seats and wheels in '00, so maybe it's worth finding one of those?
Oh, and did I mention this thing actually holds the drifts pretty well?
I was kind of surprised, but I don't trust it at the limit.... Then again, you'd have to be crazy to take it there.--Dan

exactly that, a '99 xk8 convertible. and yeah, depreciation on this car is crazy. At those prices, it's a steal.

By the way are u going to keep the 360 modena and have the 575? or if its replacing the 575 what made u wanna do that. not like i would not be happy with eaither but jus curiouis how u like the 360. One day i need to finally get a Ferrari its what i've been wantingh for ever so one day i will make my self happy.
heres a pic of my jag by the way.
Don't think that Ferraris are immune to depreciation, the 8 cylinders are good for two or three years due to limited supply, but the 12 cylinders go into free-fall the moment you drive out of the dealership.
Apart from supply and "must-have-it-now" considerations, the majority of people who can afford to run, insure and maintain a 456 will want a new one. They're not going to be interested in someone else's cast-off which is only a few thousand lower than MSRP because they earn that in a few days. Nobody will be interested until there's a big difference in price and lower interest rates just make it worse.
