Angry Grille Emblem

Hello all,

A few weekends ago some one stole my Grille Emblem from the front of my 2003 SL500.

I went to the dealer to order one, however since my car has DISTRONICS I have to buy the whole Grille+Emblem $600+. If I did not have distronics it would be $60.00 and no big deal.

Every time I call the dealer parts department, they can see on the computer that it is avaliable as a seperate part $60.00 however when they try to place the order it makes the parts department choose the whole assembly. Bogus

So what I am asking is if anyone who has DISTRONICS and a spare SL500 emblem please contact me at the e-mail below or even if you have connection at some Mercedes parts place. I will be more then happy to purchase it from you or if someone can lead me in the right direction. Becaue driving a $90K car without an emblem just looks bad.

Regards,

I can sympathize...having purchased SOOOOO many hood ornaments over the years becasue of punks who steal them. Somone should have your part in stock...you just need to find that dealer. Call around some more...please tell me it's not a requirement to replace the entire grill just because you have distronic....(sure it didn't "fall off" under warranty?) Good luck and I hope someone chimes in....

There is a moral here...

You buy your fancy toys....and you pay through the nose...at some time or another
