Mark...your comments don't make much sense...Yes these are the same DESIGN as on the SLR concept...no...I doubt it is the same wheel or the same fitment that is used on the SLr...but the fact that MB is offering them as a option says that they are making a fitment for the SL....as far as the rest of the comments about unpsrung weight and wheels from Walmart...and sunglasses....well....has nothing to do with the question asked.....

The SL is not such a complex car that you cannot fit a quality after market wheel to it....please...
Personally I will be having wheels custom made that are far better than what AMG puts out...

I bet you will see something like the later turbine style wheels on the SLR

What does "arm candy" have to do with wheels???
I don't get your issue here...

Wheels are as valid a way of individualizing a car as the color and options...my girl could care less about wheels...but I do...for both looks and performance

yeah...I suspect the SLR wheels will be different ....so what is the issue???.... David22 said nothing about "aping" the look of the SLR...

My point is that there are many wonderful aftermarket wheels out there....that are also better made, stronger and lighter than the ones that AMG has made for them...at 180 I would be more worried about the mass produced AMG wheel...as far as the clearance and monitoring....those are simply a matter of proper fitting and mounting...no big deal
