comand/stereo power failure...
Vehicle: 2004 SL500
So I'm driving to work this morning on the freeway and all of a sudden the stereo/comand system power shuts down by itself. Tried several times, but it wouldn't turn back on with the power button. After about ten minutes, I hit the power button again and the system came back on and worked fine after that.
Anyone else have this problem? And if so, any idea what went wrong?

Command Software
I would check with your dealer and see if you have the latest command software update. The updates seem to fix a lot of the isssues.

I used to get random crashes on the navigation or sometimes it won't power down or power up. But, not since the last update earlier this year.
The only thing I notice now is that sometimes it takes awhile before it displays the map. It sits on the the 'Notice' label for about a minute or so before displaying the map.

You can always carry a pocket FM (or satellite) radio and read a paper map.
