Difficulty in reading some instruments/COMAND
For some reason my Rx sun glasses black out (BLANK) the center screen of the Mercedes SL COMAND system. If I remove them or tilt(rotate) my head 35 degrees clockwise--then the screen is legible! I don't know if Rx sunlassess come with specifiable axis of polarization!! --or if I can order a specific polar axis so I don't have the problem! --(Nothing in modern life with $100K cars is simple these days!)
MORE CRITICALLY, I can't read the bottom segments of the (purplish) speedometer and tachometer gages for the same reason.--trip miles, temp, radio,CD,etc. and all the C O M A N D system steering wheel controlled read outs!----
Has anyone experienced these problems? How was it resolved??----Giff Albright gha1@psu.edu

Identical experience here. I just have to turn my head or move the sunglasses up temporarily.
I have a collection of Costa del Mar polarized sunglasses; they all make reading the instrument cluster and comand screen difficult.
...love those Costa del Mar glasses!

1M, F550M, F550B, F40, S600, 365GTC, DBSx2, etc.
It's because of polarized glasses - but you know what, it's well worth the inconvenience to have proper driving glasses. Same thing with any BMW, Lexus, etc. screen.
Oh well.

polarized glaases
The effect of polarization to reduce glare and increase contrast sensitivity will compromise the ability to read LCD screens. Was returning what I thought was a broken startac when I realized it was the glasses that "ruined" the screen
