Question 2003 SL500 Mods

1. Anyone know of an air induction kit for an 03 SL500?
2. Can anyone recommend a good tuning/parts/performance company in the san francisco area?

Thanks.

Yes. There is an air intake. Search for that, and Renntech or Kleeman are good.

There's Discovery Automotive, up near Sacto, as I recall. They have a great reputation with European cars and are whizzes at custom fab stuff. A+ rating from me and I'm an **** SOB.

be advised: That motor has limited parts availability. Renntech, Brabus and Kleeman all make goodies for it but the basics apply. You need to upgrade the:
Intake
Exhaust
ECU

not neccessarily in that order. The biggest gain will probably come from the ECU, as I recall, but even that was relatively modest.

Beyond these basic mods, the power gets expensive because one of the only options is a supercharger kit. Along with it comes an ECU upgrade. All totalled, you can easily top $25,000 in parts alone.

That's before you touch tires, wheels, lowering module...add another $6-10K and assuming of course you don't add a body kit.

So the question is: how fast do you want to spend? I mean, "go"?

Hope this helps.
