I got a quote in the upper hundreds for AMG tail lights (was it 750? I don't remember).
They swap right in, just need to unscrew a few bolts.
If I recall you need to have the top half way down to get easy access to some of those bolts.

I am getting mine done this week. I got AMG tail lights but will tint the red part just a tad darker. Cost... don't know yet. Lights are around $360 each. Labor and materials don't know yet because I am getting HID's in the front lights as well. Will update after all is done. I will also have him tint my old SL tail lights. I'll be selling them on Ebay to get some money back. Should be lighter than that other one on the website. I saw one that dark in Anaheim once, I didn't like it very much on a silver R230. Plus, I don't want to get a ticket from a bored CHP (high way patrol for those who don't live in California).

yes as the spray paint on them removes the reflectors/visibility from them.. they aren't compliant.. i used to do this with some of my cars but never had a problem.. only cops in small towns will give you crap about it..

it's illegal when the cops are bored. Don't go to LAX with tinted windows, missing front license plates, or tinted lights. They will write a ticket curbside, even in the parking lot when you are not there. My friend saw the bike police write a guy tickets for missing front license plate. aye!

I avoid LAX like the plague. One of the worst airports I've ever flown into and I've flown into almost every major airport in the world in the past 12 months.
The cops just got busted by a local news show for slacking off and using official time for personal work.

yes, the AMG's "smoked" version is staying the same for 07 and looks awesome as usual.
