I have really poor FM reception on my 05 SL.
My sales rep said that is because my back window is tinted and that is where the atennea is embedded.

Can some one confirm that. I got the car and 2 days later had the tint done, i did not notice anything before though.

My question is if the antenna is in the rear window what happens if the top is down and the window is in the trunk?

Also what is that antenna stub on the rear 1/4 panel driver side. Isn't that the antenna for the radio?

The radio atennea is in the middle of the front window in my 2004 SL500. The short one on the drive's side rear fender is for telaid and nav.

two for AM, one in rear window, other in rear shelf for top-down operation.
stubby one on car is phone.

so tinting should not affect FM
