Glass clicks entering and existing inclines?
OK, this really is irrating me now.
Ok the windows are up, the roof is on, and it is about 30-35F/around 0C degrees outside.
Basically the car will make a 'glass missalignent' sound when I enter or go off an sharp incline. You know that sound as the one glass makes when two peices are touching and done peice shifts more then the other causing the other one to make like a 'knock' or glass 'pop' sound (sort of).
Also any other drivers drive in cold weather? I mean like high 20s low 30s. During the first few miles it sounds like I get a windchip in the windsheild...but nothing is around to cause it.
Anyone know what I am talking about or an I insane??

2003 SL500
I have a 2003 SL500, and a very similar problem. Temperature is rather warmer (40s), but the left rear window sounds like it shifting slightly every time I go over a speed bump or change levels in the car. I used to have milder sounds from the same area, but this has started recently.
I'm taking the car in for the SBC recall soon, will see if the dealer can fix it.

window "clicking" sound
hello, i have a 2003 SL500 and i know EXACTLY what you're talking about. it usually happens when i go into a driveway or go over a speed bump. i usually hear it on the left rear window area. i think it's because we have a hard top convertible. it's just the window rubbing against our hard top. since we have a convertible, the window sits flush and airtight with the hard top but obviously it can not be the same as a non convertible car that has a window frame on the door. i think that's what is causing the sound. i hope this helps.

In just listening to what you guys are talking about it sounds like the body is flexing and there really isn't anything a dealer can do about that. All convertibles, even Mercedes' make sounds when it is cold and the body is asked to bare a high degree of twisting force. The dealer may be able to put something on the glass to quiet it though.
