any deliveries dates on the 2007 SL550 ?
I placed an order with my local dealer months ago for the 2007 50th Anniversary SL550. (I had previously purchased a 2003 and 2005 SL from them). They tell me it should be in by mid May. My question is: has anyone else been given firm delivery dates on their 2007 SL? If so, when? Thanks!

2006 SL 500
I've been participating in this forum for a little over a year and in that space of time I've learned that they don't release new model year cars to customers until after July 1st - unless it's the roll out of a major redesign ala the S500 recently. They start building them (Sl's) in March/April.

What is included in the 50th anniversary package?

the official launch date is april 15th. Larger dealers will have cars then. First delivery cars are already completed and sitting at the vpc in the usa.

My dealer told me pretty much the same thing. He has an 07 SL550 waiting at the dock in Belcamp, Maryland. Mercedes is holding back the final delivery. Looks like April 15th!

No word yet on MSRP for the car, but my dealer says; "not much more than the pedestrian version". And the 07 SLs indeed do have a lower MSRP than the 06 SLs! He will discount the car because I have bought all my cars there since 1984, but I haven't asked how much. We just got a 07 S550, and were given a $2k discount.

Very nice, really nice if the base SL550 is cheaper than the outgoing SL500. Mercedes won't be able to build them fast enough for a while.

interesting...MB made the sport bumper cutouts opposite shaped compared to the non-sport....almost like they fliped the shapes upside down and added some more lip.....the sport looks awsome, but the non-sport looks good as well.....my 05 sport has more differences then a 05 non-sport due to all the extra black mesh IMO.
