SL/R230: 2005 SL600: check engine light

2005 SL600: check engine light
Fellas,
I'm hoping some of you can help me out. It is a nice Spring night here in Jersey and I was planning on taking the 600 out.
Low and behold, the check engine light appeared on the dash at about 18:30. Of course, just as all the Service Centers are closed. The car is not revving/shifting normal anymore & the tach seems to be fluttering between different RPM ranges.
I drove her home (~5 miles) at low engine speeds and parked her in the garage until Monday morning.
I only have 2,500 miles on my car and it has only had a transmission leak at 1,300 miles. I can't believe it...100K on a car and I can't even enjoy it on a nice Spring weekend.
Well if anyone has any experience with R230 engine problems please reply with your thoughts. Thanks in advance!

Just talked to my SA and he stated that their was an error code because cylinder 3 was misfiring
. He wants to keep it overnight and test it cold in the morning. I hope this is just an isolated incident
