folding roof failure.....
anyone else had the roof lock up half way down?
My car is now in MB-Beverly Hills to be fixed, thank heavens for the extended warranty I bought because of thie board!!
While I was there my s/a pulled up it's history, and I was surprised to se how many times it had been in for warranty repairs. Now I see why the 03's have a bad rap! I won't keep this one a day beyond the extended warranty!

05' SL500 (Sold) - 01' S430 - 05' Yama R1- 02' ML500 (sold)
For some reason my SRS lights stays on for about 3 minutes everytime i start the car. After driving about 3 minutes then it goes off.
Is that normal? 3 minutes seems to be a pretty long time

This week, I just got both rear shocks replaced on my SLK 320 on the Mercedes extended warranty.
Just call your dealer to find out your options on the extended warranty.

Just a comment on performed warranty work...It isn't always a sign of a problem with the car or quality.
In the case of our SL55 I can classify half the warranty replacements as technician imcompetence who simply replaced parts and modules on a trial and error basis or even broke parts.
Example: With the SL fuel tank noise, even after indicating the cause they went on to replace the audio amplifier (just in case and to no effect - $1400, under warranty), on another occasion the technician tried to twist off the shiftknob instead of pulling it, shearing off the keyless go pins inside (had to be ordered from Germany).
I have been disappointed of how little many techs actually know besides using the Start Diagnostic system. This is worse on AMG cars...

in response....
I didn't have the car towed, I just drove it in very slowly and carefully.
On Extended Warranty I got the one that my local dealership sells, which is backed by Fidelity Insurance, as I wanted the one that they could most easily work with. I think your local MB dealer will be your bet, as it is there that you'll need the warranty's cover.
