Currently planning to buy a set of Carlsson bodykits and AMG exhaust for my SL. However, I was told that the AMG exhaust will not fit in with the Carlsson Rear Skirt Lip (Which is designed to fit with Carlsson exhaust ).

Therefore, I'm wondering:-
- Will the Carlsson Rear Skirt Lip fit in with the standard exhaust? or you guys know any other exhaust system that fits in with it?
- Is the Carlsson R230 exhaust system any good (In terms of sound and performance)? Have anyone tried it yet?

not sure about the fit. From the pictures it seems they should fit fine since both systems are quad pipes. But, I guess you have to measure it precisely. As for the sound, I heard it installed on a CL, the sound is the best I've heard. The resonator in that system really humms well. I want it for mine too but only when I get the supercharger for the engine. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, I guess I'll get one for my SL after I get those bodykits. But for the exhaust system you've mentioned, is it the Carlsson "Sport Exhaust System" or the "Rear Silencer"? The Sports System cost around $14k while the silencer cost only $2.4k...I hope its the latter one, lol

The CL guy spent gazillions on that car... it was the whole system, not just the silencer... sorry!

I had a modified Carlsson R230 rear bumper on my car wrapped in CF. The stock AMG Quad exhaust WILL NOT NOT NOT *NOT* fit. I took the measurements myself and it's not even close.

You can modify the Carlsson rear bumper to fit the AMG exhaust. A body shop should be able to do that. Also, the Eisenmann exhaust fits as well.
