SL/R230: Anyone know if new SL550 tails will fit on pre-facelift SL?

I checked with the parts guy at the dealer where I bought my 2005 SL600 and asked. He said the 2007 tail lenses are $825/pair (ouch!!) and in stock at the factory warehouse.

He said they probably fit, but only their body shop could tell me 100% for certain. I haven't stopped by their body shop yet.

I picked up the 55 lights for $800 and had those installed.
I think it looks much better, probably because my car is
silver, so its a nice contrast.

Mine is looks INSANE with them especially after puting on 20's and dropping it a bit...

The AMG lights look so much better than the prefacelift non-amg lights (all red) and even the facelift non-amg lights (white/clear stripe).

That's such a scam. Preface lift tails were only $400 for a set. How convenient the price doubled.
