Anybody using the K&N airfilters?

What's the best place to order them online?

I got them off Ebay for maybe $80 shipped. I am installing tomorrow.

What will the K&N affect? Sound? HP? Anything?

You won't hear any sound difference by installing a K&N filter. You do increase airflow and perhaps pick up 2-5 HP which you will not even notice.
Air box pkg that are available to other makes(mustang for instance) do create a diffierent sound as well as pick up another 15 HP or so.

I use to sell K&N filters as well as the air boxes back in the 90's and the main benefit that I noticed was the re-usability of the elements, other than that I wouldn't waste my money.

I remember when I had my CLK, the guys were talking
about the oil on the filters going to the MAF, and causing
them to prematurly go bad. Just something to think about.

You may want to try summit racing as I did a quick search(2003 SL500) and found the filters for $38.69.
