One thing I have noticed that I don't like is the bottom part of the seats. They are flimsy. My CL seats were 2x as thick it seemed like. The leather has gotten a few creases in it and at this rate, I'll have to buy a new seat cushion in a year because I like that stuff pristine. I am all of 6 foot 1, 175 pounds too....it's unexcusable. Anyone else notice this?

 

SL 55 nappa leather much nicer and softer... I don't like the seats in the SL as well... cost a few thousand to reapolster with thicker pads and nicer leather. Could be worth it if you rip out the interior trim as well for graphite!

 

Got nappa? I can't see my seats at all when I'm driving. I really like the seats. Very comfortable.

 

the seats can be softer IMO. i've had both the SL500 and SL55 and they both hurt my butt and lower back when i go on long drives. they're not as plush as luxury sedans (i.e. s-class, 7 series, lexus) but the SL isn't a luxury sedan. i wish they put in just a little bit more cushion.

 

I did a little experimenting with the seat controls and it seems alot better when I have the cushion all the way forward. Before, it was almost all the way back and I bet that contributed alot to it.
