I'm looking at purchasing an SL500 (2003 - 2005 with very low miles). I've seen a couple so far but I'm not sure if it would be better to purchase one from a MB dealer or a used car dealer that has a lot of other nice cars. The MB dealer's prices here in town are about $7 to 10K higher than from a used car dealer.

The Mercedes dealers generally have the best used cars in terms of low miles, condition, color combinations & options, etc. They probably have a lot higher price to see if you're dumb enough to pay it. Around here I've found a lot of room in their prices if a qualified buyer waives a serious offer in front of them.

I recommend certified pre-owned from an MBZ dealer, and avoid the 2003s due to 1st year teething problems.

Agreed, I would go to the MB but dont give them what they want. If your serious and have the money they will negociate pricing. It can be done. Good Luck with your hunt!
