interesting.... how about any real world numbers after the upgrade like 0-60 and 1/4 mile times? if these show well, then that makes it very interesting...

No idea really. I need a few weeks to gather data from the tracks. Still a brand new software.

I am right there with you on this guys....I dont know about the chip... I remember a 500sl owner stating he did not notice much after he chipped, but that engine is probably not as responsive to ECU upgrade......The primary reason I am buying the exhaust is because of the sound upgrade.... I will post video in about 10-14 days....it takes 6-8 wks for Eisenmann to deliver.....but they sound great and you get a performance bump.

On a n/a car you're not going to find major performance figures coming from anything short of aftermarket forced induction unless the cars being purposely limited from the factory (like headers on the LS400 of 10+ years ago).

50hp from ECU + Headers? Is that crank or rwhp. Not to be a party pooper but I've got a lot of skepticism on that. ECU is one of those upgrades I'd do just for the power under the curve benefits. Is it worth it? That's for you to decide.

Gotcha, thanks. No wonder RENNtech's claims always looked 'high' on their website.

Right its 40hp for $4000........ I think u need some help with the airbox for more intake and I believe "speedtuning" chip will be significantly less for same hp gain..... Renntech makes some great products (600 and 65 chip) but that doesnt mean everything they make is good for your app........... Hey "VRAA" i have to ask what does ur sig mean?

I was informed that depending on the temperature, with the upgrade, you will see a drop of 0.4 secs.

adam............... i respect the fact that you make your living on selling these tuning products, but lets be real............what does u have been "informed" mean? Stop playing hide and seek on this .................u are trying to get the s550 guy to buy your chip to get him sub 5sec to 60.............ok lets see the proof that 40 rwhp on a 4500pd car will get you -.4 seconds to 60...stop ur bs already.

Like i said, i was informed and i am an empirical type of guy. I will only persuade him to purchase if i have time slips. Right now, i dont, and i can only say i was informed. And hopefully i do get time slips pretty soon.

I have a sig?
Interesting... I need to change it soon.

AdamG is a solid guy, he's not trying to rip folks. Although he is a little pro-RENNtech at times...

My only wonder here is if i go for the ECU Upgrade on my S550 - what will the benifits be. What will me 0-60 time be. NOW, i go to 60 in 5.3 seconds.
If your chip only brings me to 60 in 5.1..... cant really justify.

I dont mind spending the $2000 but want some real improvement on the time.

Please let me know when results are available.....
THanks
bradley

well lets wait till he can provide us with a report of the performance improvement. I am very curious. I am not expecting it to be 4.2 to 60 but id sure like it bout 4.8 ish. otherwise, it just wont be noticeable. 5.1 - 5.3 are really the same. 4.4 = the S600 4.2 = S65 so i wouldnt mind 4.6 -4.8 for a 422bhp S550
