Total Electronic Shut Down?

Driving home Sunday my ABS light came on, then the ESP, then BAS, then the Battery light, then tire presure monitor. Roadside assitance came and said it was not the battery.

Now all electronics stay off like a dead battery until I put in the key. Then it will start fine, but I have no ABS or power steering.

Has anybody else had this happen? It is going to the dealer today.

Never heard of that before?? I had the car shut down on me once where everything kind of went dead but still able to drive and accelerate fine for a split second and everything came back on. Never happened again but thats all I have encountered. Keep us posted, Im interested in finding out what happened. Best of Luck to you.

that happened to me. voltage regulator needs to be replaced most likely. warranty will fix it, or if they charge you, the most it will cost is $100. part is only $37. (They spent 3 hours diagnosing the problem for me. blah) So if you have to pay for it, save yourself the money in having them diagnose it and have them try to change the voltage regulator first, since it is so cheap.

Thanks. That is what I was looking for. I love to go in to the service department with a little knowledge. Because we all know the brain trust we are working with there. I will let you know what transpires.
