I have a range problem with the Homelink on my SL550. After programming (with the rolling code on the LiftMaster unit) it works OK with the car in the garage right under the opener, but it won't work with the car in the driveway, even with the bumper right up to the garage door. In contrast, the hand held remote works 50 feet away from the garage door. Has anyone else had this problem?

Try replacing battery on your handheld remote and then re-program. I was told by HomeLink that this assures the program is copied accurately from the remote to your car's.

Thanks. However, the remote has a new battery in it. I will try reprogramming, though. I did that, and now it works, except that sometimes you have to push the button several times.

I am having the same problem with my SL, using
the homelink to open my new automatic gate. Is
it something that is common on these cars?
