I'd be surprised. The engine has self-adjusting hydraulic tappets are are operated directly by the cam-shafts and since they are always in contact with the cams, there should be an absolute minimum of noise.

you know...i had an engine noise as well everytime I would accelerate at about 2000 - 3000 rpms. I took it in for service and they said everything was normal so I'm assuming it's just a noise the engine's supposed to make.
