Questions about SL550 MPG
The wife and I took her new SL550 on a 250 mile road trip a couple of days ago. It was mostly interstate highway driving at 80-85 MPH. The trip computer showed 24 MPG. How accurate is that compared to manually calculated MPG? The car had less than 300 miles on it at the beginning of the trip; will the MPG increase over time? So far, I am very impressed, not only with the MPG but with every other aspect of the car (except the cupholders hindering access to the stereo and the nav controls).

2007 SL550, 2008 S65, Golf cart and a few non-MB vehicles
We haven't had much luck with the mileage computer figures as readings of intown driving tend to be on the low side while HWY numbers are always low.
Actual around town numbers are 13-15MPG while HWY only numbers 75-80MPH have been as high as 25-26MPG.

07 SL55, 1954 Corvette, 09 E350
We have gotten 15 - 16 mpg in the city with highway mileage of 26 to 27 mpg at 65 to 70 mph. The highway driving was with the top up. The top was down for some of the city driving.........do you think that could have hurt the mileage.......just kidding.
