AMG streched metal grill
We pulled out of a shopping center last night and the air dam rubbed the street.
The wire mesh grill popped out and was imeadiately run over.
When I examed the mounting I found that it is held in place by wind pressure and cheap clips.
I think I was lucky and it didn't damage the outside air sensor which is mounted to the grill but only time will tell.
You wouldn't think you would have to strap a $110k car togeather with tie wraps but I am sure going to add some to mine, I suggest others do too.

When I got my car recently from a dealer that mesh grille had a whole in it and they are sending out a new one new. I guess I will be seeing those clips you are describing.
