SL/R230: Do 2003/2004 SL navigations display street names?

Do 2003/2004 SL navigations display street names?
i know at the bottom of the screen it shows the name of the street you're on but is it supposed to show the names of streets around you? with my previous BMW it would do this however with my 04 SL it doesn't. Not sure if I need to change a feature in the settings or if the screen is just too small in these models.

If you really need serious navigation buy yourself a portable unit like a Garmin. for $400 you'll get every feature and country wide information. The MB system is an embarassment. Don't even waste your money on "updated" CD's. You won't see any improvement.
