Chip for 500sl (help)
Hey guys does anyone know which is the best power chip i can put on my Lorinser 2003 sl 500 and where to buy it from...Here in Lebanon we have 98 octane fuel but the fuel quality is not that good as in the states or europe,, however has anyone put a chip inside and does it give some more hp cause i would love to at least increase it to 330 or 340 bhp....
I found a chip called power chip which u can obtain from evo sport but its made for 90 and 92 octane fuel and costs 1000 dollars....I mean if super charging is a costly and difficult task what is the best chip i can put on the car just to make it a little bit more powerful cause as u all owners of 500 sl's there is a lot more power that the engine can still give and what a shame that the boys at mercedes didnt give a little bit more power ......

You can go for a bunch of different types of chips. Powerchip, RENNtech, Kleemann, and I bet Lorinser and Carlsson have them as well.
Personally though, I think unless you're going forced induction, it's very cost-ugly to mod a naturally aspirated car.
If you really want some power out of your car, boost it.

Pro Charger 600 (Super Charger) or Chip
let me tell you guys that someone offered me a super charger clled pro charger 600 made in the US but i am not sure if you can use on the sl 500 and as for the chip like i said i found a site called evo sport which are asking for $1000 for the power chip but it works on 92 octane and they claim a 27 bhp increase although we have 95 and 98 octane here in Lebanon but the quality of the fuel is not too good,,, so what do u guys think....Does anyone of youguys if the Pro Charger 600 can be places on the 2003 sl 500 or should i go for forced induction ......??????????????????????? I really want to add more hp to this car and some technical advice would be highly appreciated....

Also, I believe the fuel you have in Lebanon is 98ron which is equivalent to 93mon (or 93 octane here in the states)
