Strange problem with brakes??

I own an 04 SL500 and have approx. 11,500 miles on it. I'm experiencing a very strange problem which I beleive is a brake issue. When the vehicle is stopped and I let off the brake pedal to proceed, the steering wheel gives a quick shake or quiver as the brake pedal is released. No wheel shake when braking only when the vehicle is stopped or just inching along but occurring only when letting off the brake. Would appreciate any feedback by those who may be familiar with the problem. BigV

SL Brakes

Its more than likely not your brakes at all.

My SL55 did slightly similar when the front tires were
a bit worn and slightly cupped when I first got it used.
Coming to a stop it felt like the brakes or a wheel bearing was
going weird.

Going to guess you have the original tires.
And if they are the Pirelli`s. Thats your problem.

Get the Michelins as replacements.
