Renntech CLAIM!!!!!
Here is the plain and simple statement from the RENNTECH website for the SL600 R230:
SL 600
493 hp @ 5000 rpm; 590 lb-ft @ 1800 - 3500 rpm
__________________________________________________ _____________________
PACKAGE 1
RENNtech ECU and transmission computer upgrade** $6400
(top speed set to 300 km/h)
part No. 54_215_00_18
TOTAL HP 625 @ 5000 rpm
TOTAL TQ 745 @ 1800 - 3500 rpm
__________________________________________________ ___________
My question is what should the car produce on the Dyno after the upgrade???
They state a VERY SPECIFIC number for HP and TQ.
Tell me please!!!
SL 600
493 hp @ 5000 rpm; 590 lb-ft @ 1800 - 3500 rpm

To be honest, since it doesn't say which kind of numbers I would assume those are crank numbers.
I would multiply those numbers by .85 (assuming 15% drivetrain loss) to get rwhp numbers.
As long as a dyno shows within 2% of those numbers -- I'd be fine.
BUT the main thing for a dyno isn't to show that you're making X hp, but to show that you've gained Y hp because all cars are different. Not every SL600 will make 493hp and 590lb-ft torque from the factory -- there are slight variances. Do a baseline dyno before any mods, and then dynos after mods so you can see how much poewr you gain.

With a 20% driveline loss, it should put about 500hp and 596 lb-ft of torque on the dyno.
With a 15% driveline loss, it should put about 531hp and 633 lb-ft or torque on the dyno.
What did your car dyno at? I would expect the driveline losses to be somewhat between those two numbers.
