SL/R230: battery problem

2003 SL500 2005 G55
battery problem
when i started my SL the other the computer light was red and it showed the battery on one side and visit workshop on the other. Does anyone know what this means?

07 SL550 / 07 E63 AMG
They changed the battery and alternator twice in my previous 04 SL500 and now they've changed the alternator and battery once in my 07 SL550 with only 4K miles on the car. So, it's definately a common defect.
