I'm a regular on the R129 board but don't know much about what's available for R230 cars. The dealership I do alot of work for took delivery of a 20K mile 03 SL55 last night and I'm going to be driving it as my demo until it's sold. The owner of the dealership wants a software upgrade (I agree). What software upgrades are available??? I don't really care if it adds alot of HP but I'm looking for better reaction times for the throttle and transmission as I find this car to have slow responses to my inputs (just like any non-AMG MB). I know Evosport sells a Powerchip upgrade and I was just trying to see what else is out there and what opinions are from those that have an ECU flash on an SL55.

I drive an 05 SL500 frequently and I found the 03 55 stereo is FAR better and the brakes on the 03 55 feel more like standard hydrolic brakes when compared to the electric feeling I get on the 05 500.

 

You probably should have posted this on the SL55 forum, or the E55 forum since it has the same motor... In any case Adam from EuroElites should be ablt to help you out with a good deal.

LOL...I totally forgot about the AMG car forums being separated on here. Thank you, I will post a message on the appropriate forum after doing some reading on the correct forum first. I was starting to wonder why I didn't see alot of SL55 talk on R230 forum.

Thank you for the info. The car might be sold already (someone saw him driving it yesterday, noticed the dealer tags and inquired about the buying the car), so we might have to wait for the next one to try some software. He's looking for another one for inventory now.

 

You may want to check out the ECU work that we are doing for these cars. We are really getting some great results in especially the throttle response area, as well as broadening of the power band. It is a great set up.
