SL/R230: 07' Fiber optic fog lights??

07' Fiber optic fog lights??
I was told this by a friend of mine who changed his 04' sl500 front bumper to an 07' amg front bumper. he said the wiring to the 07' fog lights are fiber optic and wont work properly on his car without a special harness.
has any heard of this before? has anyone who upgraded their bumper experienced this?

You name it i've had it or got it...
dont quote me...but i dont think so. someone i know just had the 07 sl65 front put on his sl600 and had no such issue...i will be doing the same to my sl600 in about 2 weeks so i will know then.
