Like i said before i dont mind the grille.....its those stupid headlights and the hood.............it sits up way to high before the front used to be nice and sleek now it sits up high and it took the sportiness away...........it looks like someone took the front of my moms GL and molded it on my SL...lol

The facelift is being done to comply with pedestrian safety regs in Europe. The hood has been raised to put an airspace between the hood and the hard engine beneath. Apparently (and I don't want to find out firsthand) this cushions the blow to a pedestrian in the event of an impact. It looks as if MB changed as little as possible to conform with the regulations. I hope it looks better in person than in the photo-illustrations.

I thought I liked the changes until now.... When I look at the picture from the rear, the front end reminds me of somebody who got punched in the nose and then it swelled up big time....

I want to talk smack on that but there is no point. I'm going to wait for the real thing...

I really really hope that is not close to what it'll look like, if so they should leave the new front end as an option

A real pic of the rear, diffuser and all. Im not too sure what to say but I do wish the rear lights were a bit different then the 2003-2008 like the front end is. A 2nd facelift of this magnitude shouldnt leave the rear almost the same as before when dealing with this caliber of vehicle....just cheapens the SL nameplate IMO.
