AMG mufflers, how to make the sound louder?
Hello guys, I just bought for my CLS500 AMG mufflers. I didn't install them yet. but I want to ask if any one know how to make the sound louder? I think there is something I can remove it so the sound comes louder but I don't know what to remove exactly? Any one know?

If the CLS back box is anything like the AMG 55 then there's not a whole lot you can do to it as it's effectively a straight through set up.
The SL500 has a very restrictive merge pipe just behind the 2 main cats, this thing is pinched together reducing each pipe to around a 1/2" and merges the gas flow taking away the uneven V8 rumble.
When I changed to an AMG system I cut this section out and replaced with individual 2.5" pipes.
It's not overly loud but the rumble is great and flows much more freely.

You can just make out the internal merge in the second pic.

It's all very unscientific but I have a stretch of road between 2 roundabouts (don't think you guys have them) where I can measure gains/loses from my ham fisted efforts. The upshot is 10mph quicker over the same stretch so I guess I'm a regular genius (or just got lucky which is more likely).
