SL/R230: Pics of my Sirius Sat install...as promised!
I am absolutely thrilled and amazed at the final product: I went to Worldwide Stereo in Montgomeryville, Pa. and David (in the auto install dept) arranged for Jeff to do the job. Jeff is well-known in the Philadelphia area for award winning installations of audio/video equipment in all kinds of vehicles. He's done incredible work on autos costing hundreds of thousands of dollars.
He took 7 hours to do my SL, and he did it by making it invisible (my request). It's an ASHTRAY installation. It did require him to make a template frame around the radio, paint it to match, and make it look like it was factory-installed. The antenna is under the driver's side vented plate on the hood. Wires are run invisibly across the underside of the hood (in the hood bracing across to the passenger side and down the wiring harness).
The sound is incredible, and I don't have any signal losses, other than in an enclosed garage.
I've uploaded the pics I took this morning. Total cost, including the radio and all the custom work: $590.00. A bargain, as far as I'm concerned. The radio alone sells for $150.00. I've included the link that shows the exact radio and accessories used for this installation.

Do the volume controls on the steering wheel control the SAT radio?
Congrats!
