MJR, I hadn't heard that. And in this boarder's post it looks like his new 09 has the same red/clear as on the 07/08. I have read that they are only sending over new SLs with the AMG sport trim package for the US market.

Mercedes SL500
Found bluetooth phone kit that works
I am finally getting a bluetooth phone kit installed in my SL500. I found one that will work through my navigational unit, even though I have no phone cradle installed. Everything is supposes to work like it was installed from the factory. I guess I will find out in a couple of hours.

I think you could get the smokes look of the '03-'04 SL amg on a regular '03 SL at a body shop with 040 black paint, clearing, and then lots of buffing...I'm going to call around to some body shops to see what they can do...

for clarification on the third brakelight, that is not the set up for 2007 SL55. The clear third brakelight is used on the 2007 SL65. It was then used on the 55's and 65 for the 2008 models.
I just pulled the trigger on the 07 amg tail lights and the clear third brake light. Will post pix when got a chance...

I just did mine tonight. It took almost an hour, but it was pretty easy.
All you need is a socket wrench tool and some torx screwdrivers.
If any of you tried installing a D2S bulb into the SL passenger side headlamp, you will think installing tail lights is a piece of cake

Sl550 Tail lights
I'm new to this site, this thread has been inactive for a while so I hope someone can help me. I just ordered a pair of the lights myself, just wondering if the lights function as they're supposed to (signal, reverse lights, etc)

Merc 500sl
Just bought 2 on Ebay with "Buy it Now" option. Brand new in Box, and Mercedes OEM. The seller has good reputation. Paid $608.00 for both lenses. My dealer said he'll install them for less than $100.00 (body shop technician).
Wonder if my perfect Red '03 taillight lenses have any value to anyone. The car only has 8000 miles on it so they certainly look like new.
Thanks for confirming the OK status to using these lenses.
