SL/R230: Making a move to a SL

Not wanting to part with more than $45k
We found a 2003 desert silver car with 31000 miles
xenon
keyless
lumbar
clean carfax
1 owner
bose premium
integrated phone
heated seats
windscreen
multi CD
Windscreen
Says it is 'perfect'
It as these 7 spoke wheels. Were they an upgrade?
Can somone give me some advice? Price?
Basic 2003 SL info.
What options are missing that I 'must have'
Just an around town car for the wifeeee and weekend car for us.
Thank you.

From your description, the car is optioned with:
xenon (in your case, these are probably HID headlights, not xenon)
keyless
integrated phone (I'm assuming with a bluetooth puck, unless you feel like switching to a non compliant Motorola V60 from the cellular stone-age)
The OEM 7-spoke wheels are 17" and actually represent a down-grade, from the almost-as-hideous OEM 5-spoke 18".
The price sounds OK maybe for a certified car, but purchasing either a Starmark warranty (if you're buying certified from a dealer) or some sort of aftermarket warranty from a reputable insurer is a must and should be factored into the amount you want to pay. Driving an unwarranteed SL = extremely bad idea. Not that the cars are lemons, but if something goes wrong it's not cheap, and more stuff has historically gone wrong on 03s than later years.

Most of 2003 SL500 and SL55 are around 35K ~ 40K depending on the mileage.

And as for the 03, thats a lot of cash for a base model. Make sure it has the AMG package, AMG rims, and Pano! disctronic and parktronic should also be included for that price.
